Individuals with Additional Needs

I am passionate about providing hope to individuals and families who have additional needs and vulnerabilities, hearing their voices and advocating on their behalf, enabling families and individuals to continue to grow and prosper.

Individuals and their families who have additional needs in the form of learning difficulties or disabilities, physical disabilities and/or chronic health problems often struggle in isolation, as support begins to decline over time. I am especially interested in how families understand, adapt and cope following diagnosis and beyond. I am passionate about providing hope in these circumstances, enabling families and individuals to continue to grow and prosper. We know that individual needs change over time, both of the individual and those family members and carers, therefore the need for additional understanding and guidance can remain. We are passionate about outreach to these individuals and families to provide a service that can be helpful to them, when they need it. In addition to working with individuals and families, we can consult into school to provide additional advice and guidance, to enable a whole child, consistent approach. This includes consulting upon individual learning plans to support each child’s education, liaising with school counsellors, psychologists and teaching staff.

We have experience of working alongside individuals who show traits of autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorders, executive functioning disorders, various learning disabilities and difficulties, those with physical disabilities and chronic health problems that impact upon their lives in many different ways.
